Wednesday Protests Result in 1,000+ Arrests in Russia

With a current ban on protests in Russia, over a thousand arrests were made over protests in support of Alexei Navalny. These specific protests go along with a series of them, but the specifics for this one regarded Navalny being moved to a prison hospital in the earlier days of this week. These protests actually rallied up the most participants in a huge amount of different cities even with the ban in place. The numbers are not clear as many sources stated different data, Navalny's team reported over 60,000 attendees, OVD-Info claimed over 1,900 arrests in over 90 different cities. Navalny heard about the protests through his lawyer and had a very positive reaction to them, claiming the two things he felt were pride and hope. His physical health is declining quickly as he is on week four of a prison hunger strike, and the United States has made it clear that Russia will face consequences if they let Navalny die in custody. Russia has fought very hard to dismiss these protests and keep Navalny's case quiet, but it's clear that the community will not let that happen.
