Russia expels Czech diplomats over explosion row

Russia has announced that 20 diplomats from the Czech Republic will be expelled from the country. The local intelligence agents from the Czech Republic claim the diplomats are Russian intelligence operatives. They are suspected of involvement in an explosion at an arms depot in 2014. The foreign ministers from the European Union are meeting on Monday, April 19, 2021 to discuss the latest claims about the blast. Therefore, Moscow has given the Czech diplomats a day to leave while the Czech Republic has given the Russians 72 hours. The US State Department has said it stands firmly with the Czech Republic due to Russia's actions on Czech soil. Also, earlier this week the U.S. expelled 10 Russian diplomats and imposed sanctions due to the "SolarWinds' hack last year. This, therefore bullied Ukraine and interference in the 2020 US election.
