Five states account for 43% of the country's new Covid-19 cases in the past week

New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Florida have contributed more than 196,400 positive covid cases in the last week. A lot of this spread is due to the variant B.1.1.7. This is interesting for multiple reasons and gives me a lot of questions about why. As the vaccination becomes more common, why are cases on the rise in these places? Another interesting angle is why in these places?
Very strict places like New York as well as less strict Florida are on this list but the completely open Texas is not. This is adds to the ongoing debate on whats next as we combat Covid-19.
