Prince Philip’s Death Marks New Chapter for Strained British Monarchy

Following the death of Prince Phillip on Friday, April 9th, many wonder what is in store for the future of the Monarchy. As Queen Elizabeth gets older, many are beginning to wonder if the death of her husband will cause her to step down from the throne but Royal watchers claim that this is an unlikely scenario. Despite this officials can vote for the queen to step down if she is unable to perform her duties efficiently. Regardless of this situation, it has been known that Prince Charles will succeed the Queen after her passing but he has been quite the unpopular choice according to YouGov. They report that Prince Charles only has a 60% approval rating while a whopping 40% of Britons feel that Prince William should succeed the throne instead. With the Royals in hot water recently due to the expulsion of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the racist claims that were made against the family in an interview with Oprah, the family remains to be in a rocky place
