Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, 23, has been ordered to pay $12m USD after pleading guilty to arson. Robinson engaged in the riot and protests following George Floyd's death and set the Minneapolis Police Station on fire back in May of 2020 when riots and protests were breaking out across the nation. Robinson's lawyer has said there is no 'realistic chance' that Robinson would be able to pay the fine therefore, Robinson is also set to serve a four year prison sentence for his actions. US Attorney Anders Folk states, "Mr Robinson chose to depart from lawful protest and instead engaged in violence and destruction", reflecting his harsh punishments for the fire. Robinson did in fact plead guilt to one count of conspiracy to commit arson along with three other men who assisted in the attack.
