China and US on climate change

As of 6 hours from this article being written The United States and China have pledged to work together and with other countries on tackling climate change. The main goal the two countries have right now is to reduce emissions. President Biden will be holding a meeting this week to go over the plans where many world leaders will be in attendance. China's president has not yet confirmed with the media if he will be attending this meeting. The statement made by the group follows that they are willing to all work together in order to tackle the situation as best and as urgently as it needs to be handled. Amongst lowering the emissions another effort this group will strive to do is help developing countries switch to a low carbon energy plan. The biggest issue on hand is concerned with global warming. Many countries in the world right now including powerhouses like china have a way too high level. It is recommended that levels be no higher than 2C but highly for them to be even lower than that going as low as 1.5C. This pledge between the United States and China is very good to see as they tackle this issue. Definitely looking at this as a first step of the world becoming one again. Time will tell how this group tackles climate change and if it will have a positive or negative effect on future relationships in the world.
