US Capitol: Police officer dies after car rams security barrier - Kyle Remington

On Saturday, April 3rd, an individual attacked and killed a U.S. capitol police officer in Washington D.C. Around 1 pm Capitol Police sent out a message alerting policymakers and all individuals around the local area to seek cover due to a threat. This message rang out after a man rammed his car into two officers at the North barricade outside the Capitol. The man then got out of his car and charged after another officer who then shot him dead. The attack led to the death of Officer William Evans and another officer being injured. Officials say that the attacker, identified as Noah Green from Indiana, seemingly acted alone and it wasn't deemed as a terrorist threat. This attack comes less than 3 months after the attack on the Capitol led by the pro-Trump mob. As of right now, capitol police are on much higher alert and policymakers have spoken out about the constant fear of working at the Capitol.  As result, President Joe Biden announced that he felt, "heartbroken to learn of the violent attack". It has overall led to a greater conversation about the safety of some of our nation's more prominent individuals.
