With COVID cases on the rise in India, the United States is stepping in to help the best they can. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan gave a call to India's National Security Advisor this morning to offer aid, and to help their fight with the virus. India's hospitals are overloaded, and are nearly out of critical oxygen supplies, and have started turning people away. Some teams from the CDC and USAID are also stepping in along with the US Embassy, India's health ministries, and India's Epidemic Intelligence Service Staff. In addition, 4,000 train coaches holding 64,000 beds with be brought in to alleviate hospital capacities. The U.S Chamber of Commerce and a doctor from Brown University of Public Health have called out to the Biden Administration to give some of our unused doses to those in need, such as India. Dr. Fauci said this is a possibility that will be brought up this week.
