Biden to Pull All Troops Out of Afghanistan

On Tuesday, some articles were released with news that Biden was planning on making an announcement on Wednesday of this week (04/14/2021) that the United States would be removing all troops from Afghanistan by the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks this year, September 11, 2021. Biden has made it very clear that he thinks this war has gone on for far too long, making remarks such as this being that nations longest war and that the fighting must end. This decision has been with a lot of controversy, while many believe that withdrawing all troops could lead to chaos, such as terrorist threats becoming apparent again, as well as violence in Afghanistan itself, even leading up to a civil war there. This war has cost trillions of dollars in American military funds, as well as over 2,000 lives of American troops. Some Republicans are arguing that this decision was made too quickly and could lead to even worse outcomes and a push back on American progress, but many democrats have sided with Biden and argue that war is long past due an ending. The controversy of this is interesting though, especially in regards that Donald Trump had previously announced a May 1st deadline for the same thing, which Biden announced we will not be following.
