ABC news ran an article suggesting that approximately 760,000,000 people may have been infected with Sars-Cov-2 which develops into Covid-19. Dr. Mike Ryan, the head of emergencies at the WHO, stated that their best estimate is that 10% of the world's population has been infected with the virus. The significance of this number is that the actual tally of confirmed cases is more than 20 times lower than this estimate at 35 million. How the agency came to the conclusion that the virus has infected approximately 10% of the world's population was by averaging antibody studies conducted in various countries. Dr. Margaret Harris, a spokeswoman of the WHO predicted that if the world does not take seriously contract-tracing, and tracking of cases, the approximately 90% of the world's population can continue to spread the virus. WHO director Tedros demanded that to fight this pandemic there must be "strong leadership, clear and comprehensive strategies, consistent communication, and engaged, empowered, and enabled population."
