Multiple people being held in Guantanamo have been cleared to leave since 2016, but since Trump got elected, their transfers have been halted. When Trump was elected president, he said he would fill Guantanamo up, but it has one less person now that it did when Trump was elected. Joe Biden says if he is elected president, he will release all people who was cleared to leave. Biden also says he wants to close the prison down. The process of their transfers was started under the Obama administration.
