Europe Imposes New Covid-19 Restrictions as Second Wave Accelerates

With cases rising in the thousands in European countries such as France, Italy, and Spain, new restrictions are being put in place. Italy has put the toughest restrictions since the end of lockdown, which includes a forceful closure of bars a restaurants at 6pm. Spain has declared a state of emergency, just as they did in March. This state of emergency gives the Spanish government. more power to enforce social-distancing rules and health-care policies. However, on the bright side is the fact that the death toll in this second wave is not nearly as bad as it was in the first wave from March to April.
