Mexican President Asks Pope for Apology Over Conquest

The President of Mexico recently published a letter to Pope Francis. In the letter The President asks Pope Francis to issue an apology for the mistreatment of the Indigenous people during the Conquest of Mexico. Along with the Catholic Church apologizing, the President thinks that the Spanish and Mexican Governments should also apologize for the acts. The Conquests of Mexico happened 500 years ago, but the president thinks it would be a great act of humility for the groups to apologize for the murder of thee Indigenous people so long ago. In 2019, the Prime Minister of Spain had said they would not make an apology.
