The Italian government is considering mandating facemasks to be worn outside at all times nationwide after a steady increase of COVID-19 cases over the past month. Italy, the first country to be hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and at one time the epicenter of the pandemic in Europe, has seen a steady rise in cases putting the countries total cases at almost 36,000. Which is second to only the United Kingdom in Europe. However, the country is having far fewer daily infections than neighboring countries of France and Spain, but with the Italian government not wanting to go through what they went through earlier with the virus, the mask outside mask mandate may be coming to matter what for Italian citizens.
