During the military parade that was held in North Korea on the 12th of October, leader Kim Jong-un addressed the people in a very bizarre way. He apologized to his people for his poor leadership going as far as to say, "Our people have placed trust, as high as the sky and as deep as the sea, in me, but I have failed to always live up to it satisfactorily. I am really sorry for that". This came as a shock to many because Kim Jong-un normally is not this forward when it comes to addressing his people and he even shed a tear while giving this speech. The Korea Times believes that this speech was due to the immense pressure that Kim Jong-un is under from his administration regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Hong from the Korea Times believes that Kim Jong-un is worried about the instability of his regime.
