Thailand has seen many anti-government protests over the past few weeks, and over the weekend the Thai authorities tried to shut down parts of Bangkok's commercial center as well as public transportation to try and limit the protests. However, this did not work, as tens of thousands of members of the pro-democracy movement flooded the streets. Many of these members are students, many of whom are on social media and can see what other democratic countries look like. Many people of all ages in Thailand have been upset with the current political climate and the growing wage gap, and they are happy that the younger generation has had the courage to stand up to the government. The Thai authorities have gone to great lengths to try and silence the movement, but it doesn't seem to be working as the protests and the movement continue to grow.
